Winix WAC5500 was a huge hit so our expectations from this one were higher. And it definitely is better than its predecessor. The filters on this one are easy to swap in and out. The initial setup takes a minute or two only. The unit is nearly noiseless, on sleep mode, you couldn’t hear the sound of a fan in a quiet room. We were so blown away by it that we had to double-check to make sure that it was still running.

The turbo and medium levels can be a bit noisy but they’re still low compared to other HEPA air purifiers in the market currently. It also works excellently with e-cig vape smoke (or vape discharge). Overall functioning is pretty straightforward and it does the job really well!

9. Honeywell True HEPA Allergen Remover

When it comes to true HEPA Air purifiers, Honeywell is one brand that you can always trust. They’ve been the leaders of the market since a long time and they provide great quality products to back their claims as well. Honeywell HPA300 is one such product that is recommended to you if you’re looking for a true HEPA air purifier which combats the allergens all around the clock.

The design and built quality of this is truly amazing compared to it’s competitors in this segment. The easy-to-use factor is high as well. One drawback that this model has is it is noisy compared to the Winix 5500-2 model. That’s the only major drawback we can find. In every other comparison this was much better than the Winix WAC 5500 and the newer model Winix 5500-2.

You can easily place it in a corner of your house and it won’t consume much space.

This product is recommended for all the pet owners mainly. If you have a dog or a cat and are looking for a HEPA air purifier then this is a perfect solution for you needs. Our tests have shown that after using GermGuardian AC5250PT there has been 75% reduction of allergens in the air. It can cover up to 193 sq.ft. area so if you have a normal sized bedroom then this is recommended for you.

Another Honeywell product makes our list. At 7th position we have Honeywell HFD-120-Q otherwise known as Honeywell QuietClean Tower Air Purifier. Just like GermGuardian AC5250PT, this one comes in a Tower design. The key feature of this Honeywell model is how quiet it is in it’s 3 functions. You wouldn’t notice it even if your house is totally silent.

This product is very sturdy and the base of it really well built. The weighted base keeps the whole unit stable as it oscillates. It is tall but has small diameter so takes up little area overall. If you’re first time buyer then this is definitely recommended for you as it’s very easy to setup and does the job really well. In our overall test use, it did fine job in cutting down our dusting needs from 3-4 times a week to just once a week.

6. Honeywell AirGenius5 Air Cleaner/Odor Reducer

Honeywell AirGenius5 is a mixture of both the Honeywell products listed above. It functions efficiently like Honeywell HPA300 and does the job quietly like Honeywell QuietClean. It is washable and permanent, and captures upto 99.9% particles which are as small as 0.3 microns.

It is recommended for larger sized rooms. With the new touch screen controls and GermReduction setting Honeywell AirGenius5 is much better then it’s predecessor AirGenius4 model. Look wise it is blows all of the other products out of the competition definitely, it has a much modern look compared to the other products. Functioning wise as it does a fantastic job in removing odor and dust from your room.

5. Winix 5300-2

Winix 5300-2 Air Purifier is another Winix product that we recommend on our list. It is a true-HEPA filter that captures 99.97% of all airborne pollutants. It removes a range of allergens that includes dust, cigarette smoke, odors and organic chemicals.

This one is mostly recommended for medium to large sized rooms, offices, baby nurseries, or kids rooms. It is rated for 360 sq.ft. officially but does good job in a bigger environment as well. This is the best serious air purifier out there on the market. The only major flaw or a negative point we can point out is it’s design. The overall built is huge and it does consume a bit of space so if you’re looking a compact device then this one is not for you. But, if you’re serious about your air purifying needs and space is not a concern then this is then the most recommended product for you.

Next on the list we have Whirlpool’s Whispure AP51030K. By the looks of it you can tell this one right here is a giant compared to the others on our list. The main reason we’ve included this on no. 4th position is because how efficiently it works on larger rooms or offices.

Whirlpool Whispure Air Purifier filters around 4.8 times per hour in a 500 sq. ft. room that is far more than any of the above listed products. If you require something sturdy and powerful and then this right here is your best bet. It works very efficiently and cleans the air as promised. The only drawback on this one is it’s too powerful, and the problem it causes due to that is it generates lot of heat. It doesn’t consume extra power or anything but the air inflow and outflow generates too much heat so you cannot use it in small/medium size rooms or environment. If that’s not a concern for you then you should definitely check this one out.

3. Holmes HEPA Type Desktop Air Purifier, 3 Speeds plus Optional Ionizer, HAP242-NUC

Holmes HAP242-NUC is completely opposite to Whirlpool Whispure we’ve listed above. It is not big and it doesn’t work in big environment. This model is not even true HEPA without using the additional filters that it offers, then why is it listed here you ask? The only reason we recommend this is because of the insanely low priced it is. Compared to the other products listed on this list this one has the lowest price.

If you’re a avid Air Purifier using then this is not for you. If you have some serious health condition and require a good HEPA air purifier then this one is not for you. This is recommended for those users who require a normal desktop air purifier which cleans a bit of dusty air. Not recommended for heavy users.
